Yoga can help with management of weight, but it's not the "burn calories" approach. In yoga, we approach health through mindfulness. We start with acceptance of the body that we have, with all it's oddities, imbalances and perceived imperfections. Yoga should feel great, whatever body shape, size, age, gender you have. When you feel good in your body, you might find, almost indirectly, that you begin to make small, positive lifestyle changes, but in yoga we follow a long term, self-acceptance model.
