MEET THE TEACHERS

20240616_163724 (1)_edited.jpg

All our teachers are certified Iyengar yoga teachers, or teacher trainees. The Iyengar yoga teacher certification is a globally recognised qualification involving 300 hours of face to face teaching study, 150 hours of assisting in class with a senior teacher, and links to the Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune, India.

Once certified, Iyengar Yoga teachers are required to keep their skills updated with ongoing professional development. All our teachers are also students with a senior Iyengar yoga teacher in Australia.

HELEN

HELEN

I began practising Iyengar yoga in 1991, and began teaching in 2007. I taught at Springwood Yoga Studio for some years before starting Penrith Yoga Studio in 2016 with Bruce. I love that I am able to run the studio. I have a practice that sustains me, and I have the opportunity to share my passion for that practice with others.

BRUCE

BRUCE

I started yoga in 1993 and recommend it to everyone. Not just for the physical benefits (the strength and flexibility). But also for the way it can help to shape how we feel about ourselves, how we relate to others and our perspective on life.

MIKE

MIKE

Mike found Iyengar yoga in 2018 after a more casual yoga practice at gyms to help with an active lifestyle. Now as a teacher in training he strives to enrich his practice in both mind and body, and assist others.

KATHRYN

KATHRYN

I started practising Iyengar Yoga in my early twenties. I became a teacher in 2010 and have taught at various Iyengar studios. Regularly teaching and practising Iyengar Yoga gives me a firm sense of focus and calmness and continues to maintain my mobility, flexibility and mindfulness that penetrates all aspects of my life.
