Yoga can help with management of weight, but it's not the "burn calories" approach. In yoga, we approach health through mindfulness. We start with acceptance of the body that we have, with all it's oddities, imbalances and perceived imperfections. Yoga should feel great, whatever body shape, size, age, gender you have. When you feel good in your body, you might find, almost indirectly, that you begin to make small, positive lifestyle changes, but in yoga we follow a long term, self-acceptance model. It's a forgiving practice in that we can just keep coming back to it.


YOGA FOR WEIGHT LOSS - THE GENTLE WAY

Yoga is good exercise! It's what one of our students said when we asked them why they come to class. You might drop some kilos in your yoga class, and find other health benefits as well. Our blogs may help to clarify how the yoga philosophy fits with your weight loss goals.
