Details

Join us at Glenbrook Underground cafe at 9.30-9.45am, to get a lift to the start of the walk at the end of Knapsack Street, Glenbrook.

Or go directly to the end of Knapsack Street, Glenbrook, for a 10.15-10.30am start.

The walk will start at the top of the Lapstone Zig Zag Railway, pass the Lapstone Hill Tunnel (Eastern Portal) and continue into Dark Common Reserve, following the path of the historic Tramway Trail and leading to breathtaking views of the Sydney Plains, Glenbrook Gorge and Glenbrook National Park.

The walk is mostly easy, with 1 or 2 short uphill sections, and covers around 7km in total.

Bring a packed lunch, drinks, and suitable gear for walking (sturdy boots, hat, suncream, wet weather gear, etc.).

The walk will end at Chalmers Lookout (pictured), close to the end of Brook Road in Glenbrook.

We will do a car shunt, at the end of the walk, so that walkers can be transported from Brook Road, Glenbrook, either to Glenbrook train station, or to the end of Knapsack Street, Glenbrook, depending on where you started.
