Bruce and Helen founded Penrith Yoga Studio in October 2016. Prior to that, Iyengar Yoga in Sydney stopped at the Inner West and started again at the Blue Mountains. We began with just Beginners Courses for a few months and 4 years on, we have a maturing studio in a vibrant community. We run classes from Beginners through Foundations to General and Advanced. We are thrilled to have moved to a bustling, vibrant part of Penrith CBD.
ALL CLASSES ARE CURRENTLY ONLINE
We are currently running a limited timetable of online classes. You can start with an online membership now, and change to a face to face membership later if you wish.
NECK & SHOULDER MORNING INTENSIVE
ONLINE 7:30AM to 8:30AM
SEPTEMBER 20 to 24
Working from home in less than perfect ergonomic circumstances?
In this Intensive we will focus on areas of the body that might be holding tension due to working from home, and higher than usual stress levels. We will look for easing neck and shoulder strain and look at some simple things you can do across the day in a working-from-home environment.
Bookings are for the full week. Attendance at all sessions is recommended.
Free if you have an Unlimited Membership
This intensive will only run if we reach a minimum of 5 bookings.
(This intensive was originally scheduled for August 23.)
INTENSIVES ON DEMAND
IN THE CONTENT LIBRARY
Did you miss an intensive?
We have been running intensives since we went into lockdown.
We have had different teachers, different themes:
- Finding the balance between dynamic action and soothing restorative practices for the nervous system.
- We explored how asana practice can support and facilitate pranayama practice.
- We looked at how the twin pillars of yoga - practice and detachment (Abhyasa and Vairagya) - play out in this extended period of lockdown.
All intensives are recorded and eventually make their way to the content library. Do them in your own time.
I started yoga in 1993 and recommend it to everyone. Not just for the physical benefits (the strength and flexibility). But also for the way it can help to shape how we feel about ourselves, how we relate to others and our perspective on life.
I began practising Iyengar yoga in 1991, and began teaching in 2007. I feel blessed to be able to run Penrith Yoga Studio - combining my passion with the need to earn a living.
I started practising Iyengar Yoga in my early twenties. I became a teacher in 2010 and have taught at various Iyengar studios. Regularly teaching and practising Iyengar Yoga gives me a firm sense of focus and calmness and continues to maintain my mobility, flexibility and mindfulness that penetrates all aspects of my life.
I began practicing yoga in 1999, and have been teaching since 2007. I love the Iyengar method. Teachers and students are supported and encouraged to have continual growth.
I draw from my yoga daily, both on and off the mat.
Yoga has also gifted me with community and friendships that will last a lifetime.
